Fabulous. Take this tour

Amazing tour of NYC. Our guide Mike, a native New Yorker, was fabulous. He shared his love of NYC with us. He shared so much from the iconic sites to recommended places to eat to avoid being scammed. Our driver Betty maneuvered the streets like an expert. Tour included stops at Strawberry Fields in Central Park, Staten Island Ferry, Rockefeller Center and 9/11 Memorial. Mike was so knowledgeable and provided insight to so much of NYC. The bus was comfortable and had a huge video monitor at the front that had a feed from a camera mounted on the roof. We were able to see exactly what the driver saw. Highly recommend.

Racist commentator. Run away!!

We had a very poor experience with the commentator. He yelled at us in public using his micro because he did not want us to speak a SINGLE word. He abused at us knowing we didn't speak English well. Extremely rude attitude, clearly racist, dictator kind of. He seems to care about himself only and want everyone to care about him and give no interest to his audience at all. If you are not from the US, do NOT take this tour. If you are from the US, think twice. The commentator became suddenly nice again at the end because he was expecting tips. Sorry, but unfortunately racist do not deserve tips. RUN AWAY. TOTAL SCAM!

NY one day guided tour

This tour was worth it! Jack our guide was interesting and informative and kept us entertained for the entire trip. His knowledge of NY is impressive. The ferry ride was just as interesting left one with a deeper understanding of how NY came into being. A big thumbs to the organisers.

Certainly not a trip with young kids

As the heading of my review indicates this trip is not at all suitable for family with small kids. For me, it was worse when it comes to non-accommodating guide. I believe his name is Mr. Steve. They have covered bus where it is difficult to see what guide is talking about. Overall not a great trip, in fact, pathetic to me.

Room for improvement

We took the tour 6/21/2018. The tour guide Gil did a great job and deserves five stars. He was extremely professional and full of wonderful information. I was really amazed at his knowledge of every facet of the trip. Our driver Anthony was also great. We never felt that his driving was careless or unprofessional. However, we were extremely disappointed with the bus we had to ride on - more of a glorified school bus - no oversized passenger windows and no front window for us to look through. The driver sat at a lower level than the passengers so we couldn’t even look out of his windshield - at least from our seats. Also the tour was too large for one “nice” tour bus so the first group left in it, and the rest of us waited and waited for the second “not so nice bus”. We finally started about twenty minutes late. We were rushed the rest of the day. USA Guided Tours needs to get their act together.

Avoid - and these must be fake reviews as this was TERRIBLE!

Looking very much forward to this day trip and sadly this tour was so appalling with Tim, our tour guide from Buffalo , That we left the tour at the first stop. Tim remarked that when got this gig he thought that he should know something about New York. He certainly knew his rights when it came to a disabled fellow tour member. Tim would not help her nor her female helper with the wheelchair.We helped and I was very discomfited by the rudeness of Tim to her. Rather than stating -to the right or to the left - in his poor commentary , Tim would say "Over there...." ( where is over there ???) and continually talked about rich people. An Indian woman kept asking for water, and she was continually fobbed of... the tour bus had darkened windows and was filthy with used lunch wrappers on the seat, with empty plastic bottles underneath. It was late to pick us up. Having hurried to the collection point and not having had breakfast I asked about the lunch stop. Tim said that there was everything on offer - "Pizza, MacDonalds, Hotdogs". AVOID whether you have a disability or not.

Best way to see New York Highlights

Upon arriving at the pick up location, back door of the School of Rock play, we were shortly greeted by a person checking us in and lining us up for our bus that would arrive. The bus came and 45 or so of us entered the bus and then waited 30 minutes for a tour guide who we were told was delayed on a train. This is the only bad part of what became an outstanding day and tour. We traveled the streets of New York being informed of buildings, history, architecture, and stories side by side with hundreds of cabs whizzing by and cramming against the bus. The driver was wonderful never slamming the breaks or causing worry. We saw the Madison Square Gardens, Empire State building, Got out at Madison Park, for pictures as well as 911 Memorial. We continued yhrough yhe good, bad, and ugly of New Yorks different areas until arriving to board a ship to view the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Brooklyn Bridge (we tipped this tour guide on the boat who was great with setting up pictures for everyone). We had a brief lunch break but we choose wrong with the buffet place which was 9.99 a pound and not very good. There was also a hot dog, or McDonald's choice. The trip then continued thtpugh more crowded streets until its return to our starting point. Great way to see New York and then decide where you want to go another day. All places looked very busy so you can decide this way what you really want to do another time.

African Skipped on the bus by the Tour Guide

It was to my amazement that the Tour Guide Tim/Jim (not too sure whether Tim or Jim), skipped myself and my son on the coach when enquiring about where we come from. He started this exercise from the front of the bus asking everyone from left to right where they are from. When he got to our turn he skipped us. He came across he did that purposefully because we are from African descent. I was so upset to be treated this way, so I waited until the bus stopped at Central Park then I went up to him to ask why he skipped us and we should be treated the same as everyone on the bus because we have paid for it. He was so rude and abusive pointing his finger at me. I insisted that he would not stop me from saying the way he has treated my son and I, it was so obvious and it's so embarrassing that I have come all the way from England and this is the welcome I've received from him. He never apologised throughout the tour. He wanted me to leave the tour but I told him that I wasn't going to. He realised that I wasn't going to be bullied by him so he had to choice but to find a way to get on with me during the remaining trip. I hope someone responsible deals with this issue and no one from the African descent should be treated this way in the future.
